Oh, to be a kid again! Riding your bike and walking in nature are a few of childhood’s simplest joys.

Fish Creek is home to Peninsula State Park and offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors on two wheels…or two feet. Paved bike paths and designated hiking trails will lead your way to family adventure.

2) Hit the Beach or Enjoy a Park

Swim. Play. Relax. You can do it all at one of Fish Creek’s many beaches and parks.

Plus, for a town our size, we have some really exciting events/festivals to pique the interest of the kid in every one of us.

4) Visit Museums & Lighthouses

Just because you’re on vacation, doesn’t mean you can’t learn something new.

Get a closer look at our one-of-a-kind merchant marine culture by visiting the Door County Maritime Museum. Tour a floating tugboat, learn stories of ship captains and fisherman, and engage in rich history.

Let’s not forget our lighthouse keepers! Another great attraction is the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum (open to tours from May to October), and get a feel for what life was like for the lone shore men/women who manned the beacon.

If you’d rather see something historically spooky, explore the Alexander Noble House which was once owned by Asa Thorp – Founder of Fish Creek.

Ghost stories aside, this museum is a great way to learn more about our village origins and appreciate the home décor/styles of old.

5) Embark on a Kayak or Boat Tour

Maybe it’s adventure on the water you’re after? There are several enticing experiences for that.

Door County Kayak offers guided tours and lessons for beginning paddlers and kids to explore caves, coasts, and lighthouses – all at water level.

You can also take the scenic route on a seaworthy vessel. For this, we suggest Classic Boat Tours, Scenic Boat Tours, or Fish Tales Charters which are all fantastic, family-friendly things to do in our area.
